Younger Brothers Builders was referred to me by a friend who had used them, she was so extremely pleased with their work I decided to give them a call. I had a bathroom project that I needed assistance with. I liked that they were on top of all the purchases that I needed and allowed me to reimburse them after the fact. They worked efficiently and were sensitive to my daughters nap time.

Their communication during the project was fabulous, I didn’t get any surprises on the bill because they proactively talked with and showed me before hand about water damage behind the wall. Upon completion of the bathroom project I was so extremely happy with the outcome. I was shown how to use the new shower/bath hardware.

We’ve used Younger Brothers Builders on a couple of projects over the past few years including our kitchen/first floor and most recently our master bath. In our initial kitchen discussions, Cam helped us to identify that we could significantly increase the functionality of our first floor by moving the door to our garage and removing a wall (yes, the notorious “let’s just take the wall out” discussion). He worked quickly to help us understand the vision, the cost and timeline for the project. It’s an amazing transformation – improved traffic flow from the garage into a newly created mud room and laundry room AND a much more open family room and kitchen (LOVE our new kitchen). Such a nice sense of space now and our only regret is that we didn’t do it sooner!

For the master bath, YBB took our 1970s, carpeted(!), well worn bathroom down to the studs. We kept the footprint the same and yet it feels like a completely different and transformed space – much more functional, beautiful finishes throughout – a modern master bath sanctuary.

The YBB team is friendly, professional, efficient and tidy (we lived in the house during the remodels) and clearly communicated throughout both projects. Cam was always available to discuss the projects, answer questions and checked in regularly on site. Highly recommend the YBB Team.

We approached Cam and YBB to do what became our ‘Door Project’. For many years we have wanted to open up the back of our kitchen to our deck and we saw the excellent work that YBB had done on a house similar to ours, so we were sold! We took the opportunity to also completely switch out our Front Door, plus bedroom closet doors and redo our deck and BBQ area.
The large La Cantina doors were the biggest part of the project and it was important to us to have someone who already had experience retrofitting them into our style of house, being able to do the engineering work and work through the city for permitting etc.
The whole project worked out incredibly well. We worked through the estimates for the work to be done, in tandem with the door supplier, to be sure we had the right sizing etc. We agreed on the time frame for the project to be completed and what expectations there were for us to make decisions, to keep the project rolling. Like most construction projects, we had project creep, only of our own making (added a fireplace replacement too!) but YBB did a great job on costing, gave detailed invoices, were transparent in all the costs, and completed the job just as we’d dreamed.
Above all, the small team of people we had on our job was delightful to work with – knowledgeable; efficient; flexible; resourceful in troubleshooting the usual quirks of construction; and above all were super nice people to be around. They were very accommodating and respectful of our space and time. They definitely had a ‘can-do’ attitude and were as enthusiastic about our project as we were!
We confidently recommend them for all sorts of home remodeling work.

I used YBB to remodel a guest bathroom from down to the studs, to complete make over. They did an amazing job in all areas. They are friendly, efficient, fair, thorough, tidy, and very good at communicating with all involved: The client, the contractor, the office manager, and a few other workers are all involved in group texts. Everything is very well planned out.
I was very pleased throughout the whole process. I will definitely be using them again for any future projects. Great company!!!!

We recently completed a whole house remodel with Cam and his crew and highly recommend partnering with him on any remodel/build project you are considering. We had an outdated ranch style home that we took down to the studs in order to rebuild with a updated look and feel. Cam was hands on, collaborative and made us feel at ease as this was our first major remodel. We found him to be proactive with issues that came up and very well organized, in order to keep us on track and time even with additions and changes that we made throughout the project. The end result is an absolutely beautiful home that has exceeded our expectations. We wouldn’t consider using anyone else for future projects!

I lost my house in the 2017 fires in Santa Rosa (Fountaingrove neighborhood) and ended up evacuating to the East Bay. I quickly started searching for a builder and while we were living out there, drove to Walnut Creek to meet Cam Younger of Younger Brothers Builders (YBB). We interviewed around 15 other contractors and went with YBB, and feel so fortunate that we made this decision. My wife and I are NOT handy at all and know nothing about construction, so there was a great deal of faith.
When we asked for references and examples of his work, rather than giving us a list of the 3 people who love him the most, he said to just drop by a current project (indicating he was confident in the quality of any of his projects). We did this and the homeowner was very happy with Cam’s work. After obtaining 3 bids on our home rebuild, Cam easily had the most thorough and lengthy estimate, which made us feel comfortable that there wouldn’t be “surprises” later on.
As you can imagine, we know a lot of other people going through a rebuild, and we watched as our home rebuild raced past other houses that started before us. Cam is very organized and likes to beat deadlines. We appreciated how he didn’t over-commit himself to projects and could focus on ours. We know he is a hard worker – he sacrificed many hours just in the drive from San Ramon to Santa Rosa. If we ran into problems, he owned up to mistakes (which is rare), was approachable and easy to talk to and acted quickly to make corrections.
We are so lucky to have Cam rebuild our home! Building a home from ground up was not as painful as other stories I heard from my friends. The quality of YBB’s work is exceptional, we have a home we are proud to show off. YBB was on budget, and we didn’t have to tap into the contingency funds. His employees are professional, knowledgeable and complied with our special requests like avoiding shoes in the house. We wouldn’t hesitate to choose him for other projects in the future.

We hired Cam and YBB for an addition, plus the gutting and remodel of most of our home. We couldn’t be happier with the results, their friendly & professional service, the speedy completion and even post-project responsiveness. Our project covered a new master bedroom suite, new kitchen, new fireplace, remodeled laundry room and much more. Cam has a unique management process that works wonders, complete with excellent and loyal employees. They meet regularly, organize everything on spreadsheets with an office manager at the helm, and text/email/call to get things done. It’s amazing how they stay on schedule. Their sub-contractors are friendly and professional as well, and no doubt like working for Cam and YBB. Cam is hysterical also, so he keeps the project fun and positive. Couldn’t recommend them more!
